SERVICES
PRENATAL CARE
- Free consultation visit to meet each other and tour the birth center
- Initial one hour visit
- Free ultrasound checks if you desire
- Routine prenatal visits are 30 minutes
- Consultation and referral if mother deviates from a normal healthy state
- 24 hour/7 days a week availability of midwife
- Connection to the local healthcare community including services of ambluance, hospital, nurse practitioners, physicians, chiropractic care, doula services, zoning/reflexology care
We offer a complimentary mother-to-be massage or a lesson in newborn massage to every new mother. The massage or newborn lesson that a new mother chooses will be given by Kathie Malby, massage therapist. Kathie is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
LABOR AND DELIVERY CARE
- Alternative, out of hospital birth
- Constant presence of midwife
- Support of birth assist(s) in addition to midwife
- Standard of care congruent with American Association of Birth Centers
- Knowledge and use of a variety of pain relief measures
- Free breast pads, maternity pads, and other new mom needs
- Beverages and food provided, prepared, and served to you
POSTPARTUM CARE
- Support of your feeding choice for your baby
- Breastfeeding support-in person and always by phone
- Free electronic filing of birth certificate and Social Security application
- 6 week check-up included
- home visits as needed
NEWBORN
- Free state mandated "PKU" metabolic screening
- Newborn hearing screening scheduled for you
- Records forwarded automatically to the pediatriccian of your choice
- Newborn exam and care included in cost
- Free diapers, wipes, bulb syringe, newborn thermometer, pacifier (if you desire), and other newborn needs
